K9 Pyro proudly served with the Hampden County Sheriff’s Office, primarily working inside the House of Corrections while also supporting local, state, and federal agencies. His career included numerous narcotics finds, the most notable being his final detection: two kilos of cocaine sewn into the lining of a couch during a joint federal task force operation.

At just two years old, Pyro was diagnosed with a mild bulging disc in his lower back. With thoughtful training adjustments to minimize impact, he continued to serve effectively. Toward retirement, routine training sessions left him a bit stiff, but his drive and work ethic never wavered.

Throughout his career, Pyro earned multiple accolades, including six USPCA PD-1 certifications (two at the national level), and top placements in regional and statewide K9 competitions.

Now enjoying retirement through Uno’s Legacy, Pyro receives the continued care and support he deserves after years of loyal service to his community.

K9 Riggs served the Plainville Police Department with unwavering dedication for five years. During his distinguished career, Riggs was responsible for over 20 successful finds at the end of tracks — including a two-mile pursuit through rugged terrain to locate a man in crisis and save his life. In another case, Riggs tracked and located two car burglars in a single night. His bravery also led to the apprehension of a man who intended to murder his family.

Riggs and his handler also worked part-time on a federal task force, serving high-profile warrants on members of the Mexican Drug Cartel. Riggs was instrumental in the seizure of over 100 kilos of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine — making a tremendous impact in the fight against dangerous drugs.

But Riggs wasn’t just a street dog — he was also a bridge to the community. He was regularly used for public outreach, community education, and supporting emotionally disturbed individuals with a calm, professional presence.

At 8 years old, this loyal German Shepherd is now retired and enjoying a well-earned break. His courage, heart, and service to both his department and community make him a true legend — and through Uno’s Legacy, we’re honored to ensure he receives the care he deserves in retirement.

K-9 Ardo faithfully served with Officer Wilson of the East Hampton, Connecticut Police Department beginning in August 2016. The two graduated from the 184th Connecticut State Police Patrol K-9 Class later that year, and went on to complete the 195th Narcotics Detection Class in 2018. Ardo quickly proved himself as a dependable partner in both patrol and narcotics detection, making numerous successful finds and contributing meaningfully to the department’s mission.

Beyond his impressive police work, Ardo served as a true ambassador to the community. His calm presence and gentle spirit made him a favorite at public events, school visits, and community programs—creating lasting connections between law enforcement and local families.

Now retired, Ardo is enjoying a peaceful and happy life at home with his family. He spends his days patrolling the yard, wrestling with his (dog) brother, napping in the sun, and soaking up all the love from his humans. Once a loyal partner on the road, Ardo continues to protect and care for his family with the same devotion he showed in uniform.

Uno’s Legacy proudly honors K-9 Ardo for his outstanding service and the joyful retirement he so deeply deserves.

K9 Baso proudly served the Wilton Police Department for 9 dedicated years, specializing in patrol and narcotics detection. Throughout his career, Baso was instrumental in numerous successful tracks and drug finds, including a particularly notable case involving a hidden trap in a car seat. That discovery led to two storage unit keys — and when warrants were executed, officers uncovered a large quantity of cash and narcotics.

Now retired at 10 years old, Baso is settling into a well-earned life of rest and care. As a member of Uno’s Legacy, Baso continues to be honored for his loyal service, and he now relies on the support of our community to ensure his retirement years are just as impactful as his working ones.
